"The Junior College Committees organised some events in the colleges but
to
be honest they either did not attract much attention or became big events
for the whole campus (e.g. Keynestock)."
Well who do you think DID organise such events?
The SU and the JJCs were in most respects the same entity.
That's not always how it felt from the perspective of the SU Executive in my
days there! The SU did increasingly take on a bigger role in Keynestock,
though it was still Keynes JCC in charge. But from the ordinary student
perspective in my early years the JCC's role did not really stand out to
those not in the know and so the event seemed to be run by the (university
wide) SU - when I turned up to see a football match on the big screen at the
end of the day it was an SU sabbatical on the ticket desk.
P.s. you might want to check the dates in your .sig :)
